Supplied power board was perfect and arrived quickly. Replacement inside the unit was a relatively easy job with some basic tools and some care. Most importantly it resolved a completely non-responsive Sony UBP-X800DVD player that was probably voltage spiked after a power cut. There are some online video tutorials about how to open the unit. All works fine, with no need to buy a new DVD player. All for a quarter of the price of a new unit and correspondingly less e-waste. There seems to be a problem with Sony DVD 4K UHD players, all that was needed is to carefully check the 12V output from the old power board with a standard multimeter with the cover off (taking great care around 240V inputs) and if the output is zero volts it is likely the power board has blown. In my case the main board was fine and weas not affected. Fitment is just unplugging and replacing with the new board.
